Akachi Tribe
Influenced by ancient Northern African styles. Intricate coloured bead work, cloth printing and metallurgy sets the Akachi, who deem themselves superior to the other tribes, apart.
Ku'uah Tribe
Being from the plains, they live a more traditional lifestyle. Animal skins, feathers and body paint as the strongest cultural elements all styled according to rank first, then individual taste.
Buruti Tribe
The cave-dwelling Buruti are a violent warrior society whose costumes combine scavenged armour, animal remains and ritual adornment, reflecting both their brutality and supernatural nature.
Uchawi
The ancient Uchawi are a spiritual people whose ceremonial designs express their connection to fire, water, earth and air through flowing garments, sculptural gold forms and elemental symbolism.
Great Zimbabwe
The court of Great Zimbabwe draws on ancient Egyptian forms, combining monumental gold ornament, ceremonial textiles and sculptural armour to create a culture distinct from the four principal tribes.
